I live in a climate with cold, dry winters, and the indoor air irritates my eyes and skin. I’m not a fan of using eyedrops, so I ordered this eye steamer to see if it could help with some of that dryness. The box includes the steamer, a USB charging cable, and an instruction manual. I plugged it in to charge, then unscrewed the cap on the water reservoir and filled it with tap water. After pressing the power button, a light mist began to flow from the eye cup. You can see a small, round ultrasonic disk inside that produces the vapor. I was a little nervous about putting it directly to my eye, but once I did, it felt gentle with no discomfort or pressure. The soft silicone eye cup is very soft and comfortable, and molds easily to the shape of your face. It helps keep the moisture focused around your eye. I also tried the built-in heating function, which claims to warm the water to just over 100°F. I could barely feel any increased heat when using it, and you could probably get a similar effect by filling it with warm water instead. It might be useful it you keep the unit by your bed and don't want to walk to the sink and fill it with warm water before use. There are two mist settings. There's a continuous stream or an intermittent mode that cycles on and off every few seconds. After letting it run over my eye for 15 seconds and then removing it, there is increased moisture in and around my eye. It also collects and builds up around the edges of the eye cup, so I found it helpful to wipe the excess water away with a towel. The quality feels sufficient, and I especially love the feel of the soft eye cup. Functionally, it works well to moisturize my eye. It is easy to use and only takes a few seconds to fill and begin using.
